What?

By Rob | August 22, 2006

MinistryNet: Bangkok 2007 attendees will spend 4 days exploring the foundation of what a web ministry needs in order to be effective. We will explore how the internet integrates into an overall ministry strategy, what the components of this foundation are, and explore new ways of ministering online.

I would be interested in discussing with others what applications people have developed for their ministries, or are planning to develop. My personal interest is building web applications to assist ministry.

For example, I know Orlando undoubtedly has built a lot that could be saving us a lot of time in Australia instead of us building so much from scratch.

But there may be other applications no one has started, and would like to form international partnerships.

In our case, we have made a good start on a campus ministry tracking/supporting web system that i believe would be of great benefit to many other countries. However, our development is slowed by the little programming manpower we have available in Australia. Using SVN technology, we could easily be building it with programmers from, say, Singapore, New Zealand, etc.

Currently it seems such discussions are not the focus of the conference and would be relegated to casual conversations only. Could it have a larger focus/outlet?

Excellent point, Andrew. This is, indeed, something we intend to incorporate into the conference. We want to have time to hear what others are doing and how we can partner. However, there will be plenty of time also for personal networking.

We welcome more of your input as to how the conference can be structured so that you are able to get the most out of it as possible.
